Prince George Looks to Host FCM

Monday, January 23, 2017 @ 8:38 PM

Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince  will be submitting a bid to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to host the 2020 Sustainable Communities Conference. The conference is expected to draw 500 delegates from across the nation.  That presents not only a positive economic impact on the City, but  provides an opportunity to promote Prince George.

The conference  would take place in the early fall of 2020 and  is  focused on how municipalities are adapting to climate change.

While there is no immediate estimate of what  hosting  this conference would cost the City,  the  host City would be expected to  pick up the tab  for:

  • daily breakfast for delegates,
  • a Reception hosted by the Mayor,
  • all expenses  linked with  study tours,
  • bilingual signage,  and
  • a closing  Luncheon

“It’s a very highly regarded conference across the country” says  Councillor Garth Frizzell.  He adds that the Regional District of Fraser Fort George has indicated it may be willing to partner  on this event  and  provide a rural component.

“It’s an economic opportunity for Prince George” says Mayor Lyn Hall.

So jumping on CAGW scam for the money. Oh well money to be made who needs integrity. The words climate change, thats the money maker.

That was my first thought too Seamutt, however it says the focus would be on “how municipalities are adapting to climate change.”

That is different. That would probably be things like the impact of the pine beetle and now the spruce beetle, also how things like the change has affected snow clearing, for example.

I do agree though, that things like the carbon tax, are nothing but a worldwide hoax. If you look at natural earth changes, it is clear that what man has done to the climate, its like one grain of sand in a whole bucket of it.

They’re going to fly about 500 delegates into PG and talk about climate change. OK.

They need to do this in the winter when there’s a nice inversion in place so they can highlight the smell that is PG.
