Prince George, B.C. – The Ministry of Environment has issued a dust advisory for Prince George.
It was prompted by high concentrations of coarse particulate matter that are expected to persist until there is precipitation or the streets are cleared of traction material. Levels tend to be highest around busy roads and intersections.
Those with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise near busy streets until the advisory is lifted. Exposure is also a concern for infants and the elderly.
Real-time air quality information can be found at www.bcairquality.ca.
