Rally in Support of Muslim Community
Prince George, B.C. – A rally will take place tonight outside Prince George City Hall in support of the city’s Muslim community.
It’s in response to yesterday’s deadly shooting at a mosque in Quebec that killed six people and injured several more.
“After seeing the coverage this weekend of the chaos that was happening in airports around the world and then followed up by the shooting in Quebec it was just heartbreaking,” says rally co-organizer Kristy Hirt.
“We can’t stand by and watch this happen. These are our neighbours, our friends, our doctors, our dentists, our professionals in our community and we want to show them these feelings are not the feelings of our community and that they are welcome here, we are all one.”
The rally starts at 5:30 p.m.
