Coldsnap Kickoff Moved Indoors

Thursday, February 2, 2017 @ 11:37 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Weather concerns have prompted organizers of this year’s Coldsnap winter music festival to move tomorrow night’s opening event indoors.

Originally scheduled to take place in Canada Games Plaza tomorrow night at 7:30 – it has now been moved to the Prince George Conference and Events Centre.

Environment Canada is forecasting evening lows of minus 15 tomorrow night with a 30 per cent chance of flurries during the day.

All other details related to the event remain the same. Coldsnap runs tomorrow through to February 11.

Seems odd that a coldsnap winter music festival has to move indoors during a cold snap, LOL.

    My thoughts exactly!

They did not move the winter games plaza venues inside.

Stupid Stupid Stupid
3/4 of the experience is being Outside in the Cold and Snow,
moving around (dancing) trying to keep Warm.
If I have to be indoors I may as well go to a Boring Cougars Game.

Question: Where is the Prince George Conference and Events Centre?

I believe that’s the Civic Centre. They’ve just moved it inside.

That’s what it is called for the time being. Won’t be long and some business will pay the city squat to have their name plastered all over it.

Yeah, too bad the weather hasn’t cooperated as it did with the Canada Winter Games. A hardworking group of local volunteers is bringing in a great lineup to PG for the next 9 days. Tomorrow night’s concert is free. Also the many workshops. You can get tickets for the other events at Books & Co, online or at the door.

Civic Centre, PG Regional Hospital, Fort George Park and PG Ex all have been renamed. Who gets the honour of renaming and then telling us about it?
