Prince George, B.C.-  Crews from Fortis BC will be back  on site  on Vancouver Street between 10th and 11th Avenues  today to repair  a problem that caused a  gas leak Monday  evening.

Emergency crews responded to the scene Monday evening,  when  the odour of natural gas  was detected in the area.   The source of the leak has been determined to be a valve  underground on Vancouver Street.

Fortis crews spent much of yesterday  on scene planning  the excavation, and today will be on scene to make the necessary repairs.  Fortis expects the  repairs will be completed by this evening.

The work is expected to  cause  disruptions to traffic in the area.  Drivers are asked to avoid the area if at all possible.
