Blazers Blank Cougars
Kamloops, B.C.- Not a pretty game for the Prince George Cougars as they were out shot and outscored by the Kamloops Blazers last evening in Kamloops.
The final score was 3- nothing for the Blazers, and that was good enough to tighten up the battle for the division title. The Cougars now just have a 2 point lead on the Blazers in the standings.
Collin Shirley was first to score for Kamloops with Nick Chyzowski getting the assist in the first period.
The second goal was scored in the second period by Rudolfs Balcers and Garrett Pilon put the puck in the net for Kamloops third goal in the third period.
All three goals were scored with teams at full strength.
The Cougars had the man advantage twice in the game, but failed to capitalize. The Blazers had the man advantage 4 times, but the Cougars penalty kill kept them from scoring.
The Cougars had just 28 shots on goal, while the Blazers had 42.
The Cougars return to the CN Centre where they will host Red Deer on Tuesday night.

This team isn’t going anywhere in the playoffs.
Just a 500 team since the trade with Swift Current it seems. Good start to the season with a slow finish.
This team has the talent to go very deep into the playoffs, it seems to me that they just haven’t figured out how to play as a cohesive unit since all the trades were made. The talent went up but the team results have gone down.
The power play is starting to look better, but they still slow things down too much and need to play with some urgency and confidence like they do on the penalty kill.
There is still lots of time for them to get it all figured out, but it seems like they are feeling the pressure of all the big deals and being a first place team for the entire season. They need to relax, have fun, and just play some good hard working hockey. Lately it seems like the other teams have been wanting it more, and that needs to change.
Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. Lots of games left and still lots of time.
GO CATS GO!!!!!!!
Sure hope Dan has the accurate opinion..Our powerplay MUST improve if we are going beyond the first round.
I think that the greatest issue now with the team is the massive changes to chemistry. I get that the GM will make moves in order to take a run at the playoffs but when a new guy comes in, an existing guy loses his ice time and power play duties get shifted around. Sometimes I think it should be “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
This is a lousy time in the season to get into a funk.
I agree with the comments above, there is no chemistry right now with the tremendous amount of changes that have happened. They better solve this quickly or it will be another early exit in the postseason.
We have some great kids playing the game. Win or lose we enjoy the game, crowds come when we win. Another family day coming up Friday, great deal see you there
Wow, the team has made great strides in the last year! These idiots that are already off the bandwagon, and hopefully underneath the tires, have to realize that! Look back at the last few years and think about it!! So what if they don’t make it this year. The whole nation took notice when they were undefeated for awhile, give them a break they are kids! One man’s opinion, like it or lump it! 3,2,1 and I am gone………
