Prince George, B.C. – An adult male has been issued a speeding ticket after the pick-up truck he was driving collided with a utility pole last night knocking out power to close to 1,400 BC Hydro customers.
Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says the single vehicle collision happened at around 11:45 p.m. on Foothills Boulevard near Freimuller Avenue.
He says it not only knocked out power in the area but closed Foothills in both directions. The male driver and only occupant was uninjured.
Douglass says indications were the driver lost control after driving over a patch of ice. Power has since been restored to the neighbourhood.
