Green Candidate Enters Cariboo North Election Race
Quesnel, B.C. – Richard Jacques has been nominated as the BC Green Party candidate in Cariboo North.
Jacques has a background in First Nations Community Policing and was a volunteer firefighter in both Fort St. James and Takla Landing. He retired in 2008 to become a full-time teacher.
“I believe our children are the future; we must strive to provide educational opportunities that will give them a solid foundation to make future decisions that will benefit generations to come,” says Jacques. “I am running in Cariboo North because I believe industry needs to be sustainable in order to provide for future generations.”
Jacques is no stranger to the region, having run as the Green Party candidate in Cariboo-Prince George in the 2015 federal election. He placed fourth in that race.
The other candidates in Cariboo North are incumbent Liberal MLA Coralee Oakes, the NDP’s Scott Elliott and BC Conservative Tony Goulet.
