Prince George, B.C. – Dave Henley can’t wait to cheer on the Prince George Cougars as they get set for the start of their seven-game playoff series versus the Portland Winterhawks this weekend.
The 84-year-old retiree and long-time fan and volunteer with the Cougars showed his enthusiasm by dying his hair Cougars black and red this morning free of charge courtesy Loxx Academy of Hair Design Inc.
He says he plans to keep the dye job until the team gets knocked out of the playoffs and Henley is feeling confident that won’t be for a while yet.
“If we can get past Portland we’ll take Kelowna if they have to meet them. We’re a great team.”
Henley – who has been a fan since the team’s inception – says it’s the best group he’s seen play.
“Yes. We’ve had other teams with great individual players but as a team I think this is the best I’ve seen play together.”
And what does his family feel about the dye job?
“They think I’m crazy but I’ve got Cougars fever and I feel dedicated to the Cougars organization and the fans themselves.”

He should dye his hair all the time makes him look younger. Go Cougars.
Lucky to have any hair at that age. He gets a thumbs up.
