Prince George, B.C.- There is a lot of ground to be made up if the City of Prince George wants to come close to the building permit values of last year.
February 2017 and year to date stats are well below the permit values for the same period in both 2016 and 2015.
Year | February Permit Values | YTD Permit Values |
2017 | $1,515,700 | $3,299,700 |
2016 | $3,672,905 | $5,689,592 |
2015 | $3,398,282 | $13,183,996 |
The most notable change is the drop in single family dwelling starts.
For the first two months of this year, there have been just 5 single family dwelling permits, with a value of $1,449,810. That compares to 14 such permits in the same two months last year, with a value of $3,702,870 and 24 single family dwelling permits valued at $6,091,545 in the first two months of 2015.
Comments
Last two months saw a colder winter then the last two years so hopefully there will be a catch up in coming months. PG economy is still doing well overall.
