Prince George, B.C. – Hundreds of people turned out to celebrate the success of Westwood Elementary School’s breakfast program this morning.
The program – funded by Sinclar Group Forest Products and the Rotary Club of Prince George and administered by Westwood’s Parent Advisory Council – was launched in November and helps feed 30-50 kids each morning.
Westwood’s principal Steve Dalla Lana was impressed with how the morning went.

“I’m ecstatic, we had over 100 here and I’m very happy our parents and families in our community could come out for breakfast today.”
Ashley Domhoff, a finance assistant with the Sinclar Group, called the program a chance “to have a bigger outreach in the community” and to give back.
“It is. If kids can start school with a full belly and take in more what they learn it’s great we can support that.”

Ross Birchall, president of the Rotary Club of Prince George, admitted the program has more than met expectations.
“You never really know when you get into a project like this what the subscription rate will be and it’s been quite high which is great which means it’s being received well and there’s a need for it.”
