PG Chamber of Commerce CEO Stepping Down
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Chamber of Commerce is about to embark on a search for a new CEO.
Current CEO Christie Ray gave her notice two weeks ago and went public with her plans to step down at the Chamber’s annual general meeting yesterday.
“The reason is there are so many exciting things to be a part of and I want to do a lot of things in my career,” she tells 250News. “I would like to move on and do something else that’s equally as exciting as the Chamber.”
After four years on the job, she says the primary highlight of her tenure has been incorporating her marketing background into the role.
“The marketing, the branding, is really close to my heart. Something I’ve assisted a lot of companies in and what I really wanted to do was use that background and my skills set and energy,” says Ray.
“To shift the Chamber, brand a little bit to be more inclusive of the entire community and over the past couple of years I’ve been so happy to have had numerous people come up to me at different times and mention that they’ve seen the difference.”
So, what’s next for Ray?
“I will be at the Chamber for two-and-a-half more months but after that I’m not sure. I don’t have solid plans. I don’t plan to take a lot of time off but I will be staying in Prince George.”

REALLY ????? WHAT”S wrong with saying Scotty should step in and take over????
A thankless job with a big title, but probably a cashier for the city gets paid more. Good place to make connections and then move on if she doesn’t have any burning ideological agenda she needs to drive from the position like most do. I would suggest selling life insurance and benefit packages would be a good opportunity with the connections she could make in her current position?
