Lheidli T’enneh Election Results Released
Prince George, B.C. – Dominick Frederick is back as chief of the Lheidli T’enneh.
Frederick, who was first elected chief in 2004, won in a landslide collecting 64 per cent of the vote.
His closest competitor, Vanessa West, received 28 per cent while Jo-Anne Berezanski picked up 9 per cent.
While West failed in her quest to become chief, she was still re-elected as councillor. Three others nabbed council seats: Shirley Gustason, Dolly Logan (who was re-elected) and Clay Pountney.
Successful candidates for Lands Authority were Elaine Gagnon, Joseph Georgina and Rene Zatorski.
All winning candidates serve two-year terms.
As for the referendum vote for the land use plan. 133 voted yes, 76 voted no.
Official turnout hasn’t been released though there 347 eligible voters.
