Prince George, B.C. – A house fire has ruined the holiday long weekend for a Prince George family.
Prince George Fire Rescue says crews responded to the blaze in the 2400 block of North Nechako Road at around 10:30 last night.
They arrived to find light smoke coming from the home. Further investigation revealed that a kitchen fire had caused heavy charring and smoke throughout the home.
No one was home when the fire broke out and there were no injuries. The cause was not suspicious.
Damage is estimated at $175,000.

even Damage estimated at $175,000
Where did they find a contractor to come out on the easter weekend to do such a quick estimate? Usually takes a week to find someone to give an estimate for counter tops then another week to get the actual quote, but to find someone to come out and give an estimate before the fire trucks get back to the hall is quite impressive.
