Diamond Dinner Set for this Sunday
Prince George, B.C. – The first annual Diamond Dinner – a fundraiser aimed at raising money for the Bob and Barbara Harkins UNBC Award – is coming up this weekend.
The event has been organized by Project Friendship – a local non-profit that promotes “the full participation and contribution of people with or without disabilities in all aspects of life.”
“The Society has initiated an award at UNBC to honour the legacy of what Bob and Barbara Harkins and friends have given to Prince George,” says the Society. “The Bob and Barbara Harkins Memorial UNBC Award is available to any persons wanting their education and career goals in any program that is available to any person wanting to further their education in the Disability Management Program or a student with disabilities that is wanting to further their education and career goals in any program this is available at UNBC.”
Tickets cost $40 each and are available at Paris Jewellers in Pine Centre Mall. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Sunday at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club and will include a silent auction, 50/50 draw and prizes.
