Prince George, B.C. – There’s a great opportunity this Earth Day to dispose of those unwanted electronic items that have been gathering dust in your home.
London Drugs at Parkwood Mall is holding a recycling event 3 this afternoon in the mall parking lot in front of the store. Christian Schenk, the store’s manager, says this being Earth Day “we thought we’d promote re-cycling within the community and let our community know what London Drugs does in terms of re-cycling.”
“London Drugs will take care of anything that we sell within our scope of products, whether its bringing back packaging from TVs, whether its cell phones, batteries, plastic bottles from detergents, anything that we sell we’ll take back.”
Schenk says all you have to do is take your electronic items down to the location today “whether that’s computers, household appliances, cell phones, you name it. If we sell it we’ll take it back” and send it off to the appropriate re-cycling facilities.
This is the third year the London Drugs outlet here has taken on a specific re-cycling project. Schenk says “a couple of years ago we started off with the tire stewardship of BC and took back a bunch of tires. Last year we did that as well so this year I thought I’d put a little different twist on it and focus on household appliances.”
