McBride, B.C. – Investigators have finally released the cause of the devastating mill fire April 5 in McBride – an overheated electrical motor.

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George were advised of the cause by the Office of the Fire Commissioner today.

The RCMP has also wrapped up its investigation and confirm “there is no criminal activity related to the fire.”

The blaze has resulted in the loss of 35 jobs in the Robson Valley though the owners have indicated they plan to get the mill rebuilt.
