Two Rivers Gallery to Host Live Art Auction
Prince George, B.C. – Two Rivers Gallery is getting set to host its 9th annual Live Art Auction tonight.
The auction is a major fundraiser for the Gallery which allows it to offer low-or-no-cost programs for its patrons including its annual BMO kidzart dayz.
“Which is our biggest event and last year reached 10,000 people and is free and a gift back to the community,” says managing director Carolyn Holmes.
“We also do lots of programs inside the gallery. We have Sunday open studios and art classes and we realize that sometimes not everyone can afford to attend those, but through the Live Art Auction we’ve created a pay-it-forward fund so that people can contribute to that and they can send kids to different camps and classes throughout the year.”
She feels exposing kids to art is “crucial” and a way to encourage “creativity and life-long learning.”
Holmes says the auction, which starts at 7:30 tonight, will feature over 20 original artworks for all tastes and budgets. Holmes says their fundraising goal is $20,000.
Tickets are $25 or two for $40. Click here for tickets and for a preview of the items up for auction.
