Prince George, B.C. – The Sikh community turned out in great numbers on Saturday to celebrate Vaisakhi, commemorating the birth of the Sikh faith, creation of the Khalsa and marking the spring harvest festival.
Prince George residents were invited to join in the festivities which began with a parade procession from the Guru Nanak Darbar temple on Davis Road and made its way down Ospika Boulevard to CN Centre.

Some of the participants in the Vaisakhi procession walk the entire route in bare feet.
There were several displays and food booths set up in the main parking lot and, while listening to announcements and religious teachings, those in the audience were invited to sample the free food on hand (below), including samosas, sweets and pizza.
The Vaisakhi 2017 celebrations, which have been taking place throughout the world over a month-long period, came to a close in Prince George with a fireworks display a little after dark Saturday night.

I live on the parade route and try to watch it every year. The colors are spectacular.
