Prince George, B.C. – If you’re in the market for some heavy-duty equipment, the CN Centre is the place to be starting today for the Canada North Resources Expo.
“It’s a big event,” says Mark Cusack, national show manager for Master Promotions Ltd., the outfit tasked with putting on the show. “It’s four-and-a-half acres of equipment. We go from the end of the north lot all the way down into what we call the demo lot. There will also be over 300 exhibitors.”

He says the two-day event is tailored specifically for forestry, road construction, road building and the like. Anything necessary to “get the big plants up and operating.”
Cusack expects the biannual event, which started in 2013, to attract about 11,000 people.
“It attracts mostly contractors. Forestry contractors, mining contractors, road building contractors and a lot of operators will be coming here for the machinery,” he says.
“It’s a chance for dealers to show the latest and the greatest. That’s why it’s every two years. Obviously, Hitachi doesn’t make a new wheel loader every year. So, we do the show every two years. All the contractors come here to think about what they’re going to buy for next year.”
The event runs today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10.
