P.G. Man Facing Assault Charges

Prince George, B.C. – An adult male has been sent to hospital with life threatening injuries following an alleged assault in Prince George.

Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says police were called to a report of a bleeding male on Fern Crescent at around 8:30 last night.

“Officers attended the area and located an adult male suffering from injuries that appeared to be caused by an edged weapon,” he says. “He was transported to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. An adult male suspect was located an arrested near the scene.”

Douglass adds a search warrant is being sought for a near-by residence where the attack is believed to have taken place.

Twenty-three-year-old Prince George resident Dino Andrew Alec, originally from Burns Lake, has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose in connection with the incident.

Alec was held in police custody overnight and will make his first court appearance today.

Meanwhile the victim is still in hospital in serious but stable condition.
