Prince George, B.C. – Cystic Fibrosis Canada held a walk at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park on Sunday to raise funds in the fight against the disease.

The president of the Prince George chapter of CF Canada, Lesley Girard, estimated the fundraiser has been taking place here for “25, 30 years.  The last Sunday of May the walk to make CF history happens here in Prince George and we’ve got about 7 or 8 children with Cystic Fibrosis supporting the effort to raise much-needed money for a cure.”

She says the chapter doesn’t set a fundraising goal but individual teams do “so we do recommend registering your team online and family and friends can donate electronically or they can come down to the walk with a pledge form.”

Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so online by going to www.cysticfibrosis.ca where you’ll find a “Donate Now’ button on the main screen.  Girard says “you can donate 12 months of the year.”

Girard says the fundraising goal for walks held across Canada on Sunday was over $3 million.
