Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George has decided to close the trails in Cottonwood Island Park.
Although not flooded, increased water levels have created puddles and pooling water along the trails. As a precautionary measure, the City is putting up signs and barricades to deter foot traffic from the canoe launch to just south of the rail bridge.
The parking lot remains open.
City staff will continue monitoring the river level, and will advise when the park trails will be reopened.
