Pantage Lake Wildfire 55 Per Cent Contained
Quesnel, B.C. – Fire crews continue to make progress on a wildfire about 40 kilometres northwest of Quesnel and five kilometres south of Pantage Lake.
Though it’s grown slightly from yesterday to 168 hectares, the BC Wildfire Service says it’s now 55 per cent contained.
“Sixty firefighters, as well as an incident management team, are on site and are being assisted by four helicopters and nine pieces of heavy equipment,” according to a statement on its website.
The fire was sparked by lightning Sunday and is not currently threatening residents or structures in the area though smoke may be visible in nearby communities.
