Prince George, B.C. – The annual Special Olympics fundraising Golf Tournament is underway.The shot gun start for the annual event was at 1 this afternoon, and will see multiple teams, including a full team of Special Olympic Athletes, play 18 holes of golf before the day is through.
This is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Special Olympics organization in Prince George, and all dollars raised stay in the community to assist the athletes in attending events and achieving their goals.
There are 120 Special Olympics athletes in Prince George, who are coached by a team of 90 volunteers.
Today’s event at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club, is the 24th anniversary of the fundraiser.
The events promote a safe and healthy lifestyle for all competitors.
