Prince George, B.C. – Good news west of Prince George as the evacuation alert has been rescinded for McBride Timber Road South.
The alert was issued Saturday by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George in response to a 10-hectare wildfire in the area but the situation has improved.
“Crews have made good progress on the wildfire and are not expecting an evacuation to be necessary at this time,” says spokesperson Renee McCloskey. “The public is urged to continue to exercise extreme caution.”
The alert area had covered 50 properties.
