Use Health Care Resources Appropriately – Northern Health
Prince George, B.C. – If you need to utilize health care resources in Prince George please do so appropriately.
That from Northern Health today as it continues to support BC wildfire evacuations in the Interior Health region.
It says GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel and the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George have received evacuated patients from Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake.
In addition to that, over 100 evacuated residential care and assisted living clients from Williams Lake are being received at various Prince George care facilities.
Northern Health is also looking at developing remote facilities at places like the College of New Caledonia and UNBC where evacuees are staying to address any concerns they have.
As such, Northern Health asks the public for its assistance by using health care resources appropriately”– especially emergency room facilities.
The public is also encouraged to use other health services for non-immediate needs including their general practitioner or walk-in clinics.
It also reminds families looking for loved ones evacuated from Williams Lake health care facilities to call the Interior Health call line for information at 1-877-442-2001.
