Quesnel, B.C. – Wildfires have forced the cancellation of another prominent event in Quesnel.
This time, to nobody’s surprise, Skyfest has been axed due to the wildfire situation.
With the Quesnel Airport designated as a fire support base for the next 30 days, Quesnel Skyfest president Jerry van Halderen noted “It directly overlaps the Quesnel Airshow holiday long weekend.”
He added: “Our thoughts are with all the families directly and indirectly impacted by this catastrophic and historic event.”
It follows the cancellation of Billy Barker Days earlier this week.
