Lheildi T’enneh Help Evacuees

Prince George, B.C. –  Chief Dominic  Frederick  has announced the Lheidli T’enneh  are doing what they can to  assist the wildfire  evacuees in Prince George.

The  First Nation has  donated $5000 to  the Red Cross B.C. Wildfire  appeal,   provided $5,000   in vouchers for gas and merchandise at its store in Shelley,  and  donated a further $500 on behalf of the Native Court Workers of Prince George. “That’s why we are here” said Chief Frederick “We are here to help.”

The  Lheidli T’enneh have also  provided  support at the Emergency Evacuation Centre at CNC , including  providing a shelter in the courtyard where ” elders can take a break  and get out of the sun”  says  Chief Frederick.

His message to the more than 9,000  evacuees in Prince George  is  “We wish you well,  we hope your homes are safe, and as long as you are here, that  you are safe here also.”
