Shelley, B.C. – Fill ‘er up!
The Lheidli T’enneh celebrated the grand-opening of its first gas station – Tano Fuel – across the street from its band office in Shelley Friday.
The new station not only offers reasonably priced gas – regular unleaded was going for 95.9 cents a litre Friday and 94.9 for diesel – but also a convenience store.
It employs six people including manager Doug Olson.
“I’ve been wanting to get this off the ground for a couple of years and Domo (Chief Dominic Frederick) got me in contact with the right people and we got this place developed.”

He says the gas bar is open to the general public and notes business has been good since it opened in May.
“Yes, and we’ve had traffic all the way from Quesnel. People here really appreciate it too. People don’t have to drive 20 minutes to town to get stuff now.”
