Prince George, B.C. – An adult male has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries after his bicycle collided with a small pick-up truck at 9th and Victoria this afternoon. The collision, which occurred at about 4:45 pm, appeared to have been the result of erratic behavior on the part of the cyclist according to eyewitnesses who spoke to 250 News at the scene. A middle-aged couple said they were walking south on Victoria near 7th Avenue when the cyclist, who was riding on the wrong side of Victoria against traffic, went through a red light at that intersection.
They said he continued south on Victoria and then proceeded through a red light at the intersection with 9th Avenue, where a light pick-up was travelling on a green light eastbound on 9th. One of the eyewitnesses says “even before the collision it just appeared the guy on the bike was oblivious to what was happening around him. The next thing we saw was him sailing through the air. Then he landed on the pavement.”
Police on scene spoke with the young male driver of the truck as the cyclist was placed in an ambulance for the trip to hospital.

Not surprising. Lots of dough-heads on bikes and foot thinking they are alone on the planet.
