More Wildfire Evacuations in Clinton Area

Prince George, B.C. – The threat of wildfires has caused the expansion of Evacuation Orders and Alerts in the area from Clinton to Highway 24.

The Village of Clinton and the Thompson Nicola Regional District have expanded the Evacuation Order for the Village of Clinton to now include the Chasm Mill site area.

Meantime, the Cariboo Regional District has raised the evacuation alert for the North Green Lake area to an Evacuation Order.  That order covers the following:

-East of Highway 97 to Porter Lake, including the north shore of Green Lake, Little Green Lake, and all of Watch Lake and Little Horse Lake.  A map can be found at http://bit.ly/2tNurNx.

The evacuation route is:

83 Mile Road to Highway 97 and north to 100 Mile House or

Watch Lake Road to Highway 24 to Highway 97 and north to 100 Mile House.

Evacuees are to register at the ESS Centre at the South Cariboo Recreation Centre on Airport Road in 100 Mile House.

The CRD has also issued an Evacuation Alert for the Area south of Highway 24 because of the potential fire danger.
