Prince George, B.C. – Wildfire smoke has prompted a smoky skies bulletin for Prince George.
It was issued by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in collaboration with the Interior and Northern Health Authorities.
Kinbasket, North Columbia and Yellowhead have also been added to the advisory.
Other areas under the bulletin include: 100 Mile, Arrow Lakes, Boundary, Cariboo North, Cariboo South, Chilcotin and Fraser Canyon.
Smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change.
Exposure is particularly of concern for infants, the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.
The bulletin will remain in effect until further notice.
Comments
The Northern winds blew the smoke out of PG. Hope the rest of BC is OK and that the fires did not cause more damage as a result.
