Elephant Hill Fire Prompts Another Evacuation Order

Clinton, B.C. – The Elephant Hill fire north of Cache Creek has prompted the Thompson-Nicola Regional District to issue another evacuation order.

This time it’s for properties along Highway 99 within Electoral Area “I.”

As a result of the order, everyone is asked to evacuate the following properties immediately:

  • 3265, 3269, 3419 Hwy 97
  • 1468 Hwy 99
  • 3515, 3540 Jackson Road

Additionally, all properties located within the red evacuation order area, as show on the map below.

If you live in the above areas, it’s suggested that you shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers.

If you have large animals/livestock in need of shelter, call the TNRD Emergency Operations Centre at 1-866-377-7188.

Last weekend, the 93,100-hectare blaze forced the evacuation of the village of Clinton, 70 Mile House and Green Lake.
