5 in Custody Following Arson in Williams Lake
Williams Lake, B.C. – Five males have been arrested as RCMP in Williams Lake investigate a case that involves arson and break and enters.
Around 5:41 this morning, Williams Lake RCMP were dispatched to a report of a fire in the Lexington Road Subdivision. The caller reported seeing males hiding in the area after they attempted to light a number of fires. Quick thinking by a number of local bystanders extinguished the flames before anyone was hurt or any damage to homes was done.
RCMP investigators looking into the fire have confirmed the fire was intentionally set and considered to be a criminal case of arson. Throughout the investigation officers determined a number of break and enters had also occurred throughout the subdivision, along with other attempted fires.
The Williams Lake RCMP now have five males in custody, the investigation is ongoing.
The immediate response of the bystanders and Williams Lake Fire Department likely prevented this event from causing serious harm to the home owner.” says Inspector Jeff Pelley ” Another fire within the city limits could have had a detrimental effect on our community. Our officers have been working diligently and in partnership with the fire department to assess evidence and apprehend the suspects responsible for this crime.

Hang’em if found guilty.
Until fairly recently, in Japan the penalty for arson was being burned alive. I won’t suggest going that far, but there is a certain appeal to the logic.
Burn them
Remember what mom used to do when you were a kid and played with matches? Same theory but more intense punishment for adults.
This ignorance blows my mind.
No ages mentioned, here is the punishment.
Young offender – probation at best and told not to do it again.
Adult – 50 hrs community service and told they should know better and not to do it again.
Oh, but none of them had enough hugs as infants or father figures, and somehow the white man is at fault. So time served and away they go.
