Council Back to Work
Prince George, B.C. – It has been nearly a month since Council for the City of Prince George huddled for a regular meeting, and the agenda for this evening’s session is a busy one.
While much of the discussion will be focused on issues surrounding the proposed replacement of the Four Season’s Pool and the building of a new Fire Hall #1, ( see previous story), there are a number of other matters to be tackled.
There are three public hearings set for this evening, including:
- a request to rezone a property on Vance Road to allow for a liquor store in the area to move its location,
- a rezoning request from the Regional District of Fraser fort George to make the Foothills Landfill conform to current use, and
- request to rezone a property on Uplander to allow for the development of a duplex.
Council will also look at the results of the formal petition for a local area service (LAS) in the Hart Highlands area for sewer connection. The formal petition for phase four of the installation did not receive the necessary level of approval, so staff suggest conducting another formal petition for a small area of that neighbourhood where residents indicated support for such a project. In order for an LAS to proceed, the petition must receive 50% approval from owners representing 50% of the total assessed values of properties under consideration.

Maybe they can ask themselves why taxpayers are funding bylaw services that doesn’t enforce our bylaws.
