Evacuation Order Issued for Tatla Lake Friday Night

Prince George, B.C. – The Cariboo Regional District issued an evacuation order for Tatla Lake – located around 220 kilometres west of Williams Lake – last night.
Prompted by wildfire activity in the region – this order replaces the evacuation alert issued for Tatla Lake on July 14.
Due to immediate danger, the CRD says members of the RCMP and other groups expedited the action.
The evacuation route is Highway 20 to Prince George. You can view a map of the affected area by clicking here.
Those who have arranged accommodations are asked to register at Emergency Social Services at Boitanio Mall in Williams Lake from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Those requiring commercial lodging are asked to register at the ESS Reception Centre in Prince George at the Civic Centre at 808 Canada Games Way.
The CRD also issued an expanded evacuation order for an area north of Kleena Kleene last night. The evacuation route for residents in that area is Highway 20 to Bella Coola. Click here to see a map of the affected area.
On Friday, the BC Wildfire Service said there were 140 fires burning in B.C., while the number of hectares burned had hit 902,000.
