Gambling Pays Off For Casinos in Region
Prince George, B.C. – The fiscal year that ended March 31st of 2017, was a good one for both the Treasure Cove Casino in Prince George and the Billy Barker Casino in Quesnel.
At the Treasure Cove, revenue was up $655 thousand dollars over the previous year to total revenue of $46,381,000 from slot machines and tables. Bingo activity at the Treasure Cove was also up over the previous year, with revenue of $9,416,000.00 That’s $125 thousand more than the previous year.
In Quesnel, the Billy Barker Casino saw its revenue increase by $247 thousand to $8,474,000. Of that total, $8,296,000 came from the slots, and $178,000 from the tables.
The BC Lottery Corporation says overall, gambling ( all forms) in the Province generated a net income of $1.3 billion dollars. That was $96 million more than had been budgeted, and $26 million more than the previous year.
