Doherty Renamed to Shadow Cabinet
Prince George, B.C. – Cariboo-Prince George MP Todd Doherty has been reappointed as Conservative Shadow Minister for Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.
He’s also been reappointed to the role of critic for Asia-Pacific Gateway – a role he previously held from 2015-2016. For the full list click here.
Doherty said he’s “honoured” to take on the roles on behalf of his constituents and couldn’t resist taking a shot at the prime minister.
“Justin Trudeau claims the best of intentions, but his policies hurt the very people they are supposed to help. As we prepare for a busy fall session, I am confident that our team will share our positive Conservative vision while standing up to Liberal overspending and higher costs passed onto businesses, families and individuals.”
And while Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies Conservative MP Bob Zimmer wasn’t assigned a role in the new Shadow Cabinet, he was appointed chair of the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics.
The House of Commons returns Sept. 18.
