Prince George, B.C. – So you think you might like to try a new sport, but don’t want to fork out the registration fees just in case you don’t like it? Well the City of Prince George, together with Engage Sport North and local Community Associations, is launching a program that lets you ‘Try It’ without obligation.
21 “Sport Discovery Try It!” sessions will be presented from September 2017 to June 2018. These sessions are open to most age groups, offered at no cost, and registration is not required.
The first Sport Discovery Try It! sessions focus on archery and soccer:
Archery September 13, 6:00-7:30pm at Beverley Elementary school fields. Participants must be at least 10 years old
Soccer September 27, 6:00-7:30pm at Hart Highlands elementary school fields
No registration is required and there is no cost to participate.
“We are excited to give residents in our area an opportunity to try physical activities they would not have previously considered or had the opportunity to try” says Kristi Francis, Chair of the Hart Community Association.
Engage Sport North is working with local sports organizations to provide coaching and equipment for each session, while the Prince George community associations are identifying the various sports and presenting them in various locations.
More information about upcoming Sport Discovery Try It! sessions is available at princegeorge.ca/CommunityAssociations, the City’s event calendar at calendar.princegeorge.ca, or on the Engage Sport North website at engagesportnorth.com. The full schedule for sessions will be available at the beginning of October
