Prince George, B.C. – Tianna Rossi scored two second-half goals and the UNBC Timberwolves peppered the opposition goal with quality shots throughout on their way to a 3-0 victory over the TRU Wolfpack in Canada West women’s soccer Friday afternoon.

Rhianne Ferdinandi gave the host Timberwolves a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute of play, striking a low shot past TRU keeper Danielle Robertson on an unassisted effort.

Then Rossi went to work in the second half, first with a shot to the low right hand side in the 48th minute and later one-touching a cross from Maddy Doucette in the 52nd minute to seal the victory in the opening game of the season for both sides.

Madi Doyle was called upon to make just one save in the game to record the shutout.  Robertson made 5 saves in the opening half and another 6 in the final 45 minutes.

So the Timberwolves take a 1 and 0 season record into their next game, which is also at the NCSSL fields at noon Sunday against UBC Okanagan.
