Prince George, B.C. – The Mayor of Prince George was among those hauled off to a public jail and bail event this afternoon, all in the name of raising funds for the Cops for Cancer Tour de North. Those who were ‘arrested’ found themselves locked in a ‘jail’ outside Northland Dodge. They had to call folks to put up the bail money to secure their release. Today’s event raised $17 thousand dollars.
The fun- fund raising event is part of the effort to raise dollars to support the Cops for Cancer Tour de North ride.
The team of riders, made up of RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, Sheriffs Service and some members of the community, was making their way to Prince George from Quesnel today having started the tour yesterday in Williams Lake.
The riders are making their way to Dawson Creek, where the annual ride will wrap up on Monday of next week.
All dollars raised through this effort will go towards paediatric cancer research, and Camp Goodtimes, where children on a cancer journey can take a break, have fun and just be kids again.
