3 Hours, Two Acts of Violence
Prince George, B.C. – One man has been arrested and is facing charges following one of two violent incidents that occurred yesterday.
Around 6:40 last evening, Prince George RCMP received a report of shots fired in a trailer park on the 2100 block of Norwood Street in Prince George.
Officers attended and located an unoccupied vehicle with damage consistent with being shot by a shotgun. No one was believed to have been in the vehicle at the time of the incident and no injuries have been reported. A white Ford single cab pick-up with a black canopy was seen fleeing the area before police were called. This vehicle is believed to have been stolen earlier in the day from a residence on Hammond Avenue in Prince George.
around three hours later, an officer was in the area of the same trailer park. The officer observed two male suspects approach a residence, place bandanas over their faces and knock on the door. An occupant of the residence was subsequently bear sprayed and the two suspects fled on bikes. One of the suspects was arrested, while the other evaded apprehension. The victim was treated by paramedics and released.
23 year old Lazare Francis Sampson of Prince George has been charged with the following
- Assault with a Weapon
- Disguise with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Resist Arrest
- Fail to Comply with Probation
Prince George RCMP say that while the two incidents occurred a short distance from one another and within a short period of time, at this time there is no evidence to support that they are related. Both incidents are believed to be targeted.
