Prince George, B.C. – The  value of all permits  issued in the  first 8 months of 2017  in Prince George,    is down from the same period a year ago,  but the number of  projects remains  about the same.

As of the end of August,  there had been  permits issued for  328 projects,   with a total value of $85.8 million dollars.   That compares to 327 projects  valued at $96.2 million  in the first  8 months of last year.

The number of single family home  permits  issued  during that 8 month period  remains unchanged  from last year,  with 105 single family  dwellings, but the value  is up  significantly.

From January 1st to August 31st last year,  the value of  the 105 single family  permits was $29.19 million.   This year,   the value has jumped to $42.68 million  even though there were the same number of  single family starts in the same 8 month period.
