Government Makes Changes to Northern Health Board
Friday, September 22, 2017 @ 9:00 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Pat Bell is out, Frank Everitt is in.
The Provincial Government has announced changes to the Boards of Health across the province, and Northern Health is seeing two moves.
Former Liberal MLA for Prince George-Mackenzie, Pat Bell, has been removed from the Board, and Prince George City Councillor Frank Everitt will take his place.
The Chair position has been given to Colleen Nyce. She was the former Vice Chair of the Board and had been in the position as chair on an interim basis since Charles Jago’s term expired in June.

Any reason given for the changes?
Liberal vs NDP OR Business man vs union man
Nailed it. I was just wondering why Frank Everitt and then I read your comment old schooler.
It seems Frank has very poor attendance at Council, although he does call in. It is just not the same.
But, he is NDP ….. which is more important, after all.
Slim pickins.
first move I think was good, not so sure about the second one however. as for vice chair I guess time will tell.
Pat Bell has a long list of accomplishments and history of public service to the people of Prince George and region.
Frank Everitt has a Ummmmm…..
Ummmmmm…..
Ummmmmmmmmm……
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm……..
Have to get back to you on that one.
site will be long shut down before you can finish…
Perhaps you could give us a list of Pat Bell’s accomplishments, and list of public service aside from the fact he was an MLA.

Do you wish to add anything?
All of the “public” service listed for both individuals were paid positions.
No volunteer time shown for either.
BTW, I do not view being president of a Union as a “public” service. It is a paid service to the membership.
Perfect timing for Pat . Just in time for the Apple harvest.
Frank hardly says a word on Council so is this a good move? I like Pat Bell and I think he is a good hard working man. It should not matter what party you are in its how you do the JOB.
Someone being groomed perhaps?
For retirement?
Remember, this will no likely be a 4 year government.
If that is the case, the Greens will be the cause of the change.
It would not be out of the question if the ensuing election will see the Greens supporting the BCLiberals, depending on who the new leader will be.
Exciting times ahead …… unless the “Rocket Man” or his “Mr. Fake Suntan” partner in the art of nuclear war has a say in the matter.
you might be closer than you think…and we…we will become the battle ground and fallout zone.
Say it isn’t so… Steelworkers Union? You mean they are going to reward their largest political donors? And you fools got conned, no take backsies says Horgy
I don’t believe Frank has a medical degree. So a union leader is going to run Northern Health? We all know where this is heading. We have some serious problems comeing up folks.
Very few people on Hospital Boards have medical degrees. I could be wrong, but I do not believe that any chair of the Board of PGRH or UHNBV has ever been medically qualified. It might also be noted that hospital employees are not allowed to be Board members, thus ensuring that the very people who understand hospital operations the most, cannot participate.
Since when are degrees required to be a part of anything? Look around. How does a former school board chair become Attorney General or minister of public safety and solicitor general or minister of transportation and infrastructure? It’s all who you know not what you know. Besides more and more people with apparent degrees are being outted as fraudsters. Degrees are easy to purchase.
I don’t believe Pay Bell has a medical degree either. He was a patronage appointee and so is Frank.
There are 10 members of the board of directors for Northern Health appointed by the Government,. What we have here is a changing of the guard. Liberal board members out NDP members in.
Northern Health itself is run by CEO Cathy Ulrich, and three Chief Operating Officers who report to Ulrich. Ciro Parnessa in the Northwest, Penny Anguish in the Northern Interior, and Angela De Smit in the Northeast.
So there you have it.
