Freshwater Fisheries Scholarship to UNBC Student
Prince George, B.C. – A UNBC student working toward his Bachelor of Science in biology has been awarded a scholarship from the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
Logan Ramsay graduated from Lake City Secondary School in Williams Lake in 2016 and received the UNBC Scholar Award for the highest grade point average in the school district in 2015. He is currently a fisheries technician for the British Columbia Conservation Foundation, conducting acoustic tagging programs on Horse and Quesnel Lakes to acquire data which will be used in the formation of new fishing regulations.
In the past Ramsay (right) has been involved in tagging and monitoring white sturgeon for the Fraser River white sturgeon recovery, evaluating recreational fisheries and conducting creel censuses.
His $1500 scholarship will go toward completion of his Bachelor of Science in biology at UNBC and once that has been achieved, he plans to continue his studies with graduate work in fisheries management.
