Prince George, B.C. The City of Prince George is going to apply for $20 thousand in funding under the Community Action on Energy and Emissions program.
The targets proposed in the City of Prince George application include:
-
Achieve Canada-wide Standards (CWS) for particulate matter (PM2.5) and ground-level ozone by 2010. This can be met by: the collaborative efforts of the City and its partners in the Prince George Air Improvement Roundtable Society (PGAIR) formerly the Prince George Air Quality Implementation Committee.
The CAEE is a provincial government program administered through the Fraser Basin Council, and is aimed at advancing energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Local governments and First Nations have been invited to submit a proposal by the end of July. The City was successful in securing this type of funding last year.
The CAEE program will provide up to $20,000.
