Prince George, B.C. - Construction will soon start on the Heritage River Trail and Highway 16 Trail connectors.

The funding for the connectors has come from the Provincial Government’s LocalMotion program.

When the project is finished later this year, there will be two trail connectors linking up a larger path system.
The Highway 16 Trail Connector will be a 585-metre-long multi-use asphalt trail to connect existing and proposed paths on Ferry Avenue and Highway 97N/Highway 16.

The other part of the project includes a 740-metre-long asphalt trail to connect the existing trail system in Carrie Jane Gray Park to the adjacent residential neighbourhood. It will also provide better connections to a trail network at Fort George Park as well as a running/cycling trail along the Fraser and Nechako Rivers.

Whats the point. The trails inside the city, between subdivisions are not maintained now. They are not cleared of snow. I have never been able to figure this one out, sidewalks are cleared of snow but the connector pathways between are not. These pathways get down right dangerous in the winter as the snow and ice build up. Most of these pathways leading into schools are a joke in the winter and down right dangerous.

You eat farmed salmon dude, a little ice shouldn't scare you off.
Hey just had some tonight-yum yum
it is taste seamutt........but after running down Rafe for years for his almost crazy addiction to fighting farmed salmon......as more facts come out I am becoming convinced the farmed salmon industry have been putting one over us and there are a lot more dangers to the wild runs than I for one ever thought!
Salmon runs on city trails.

Waste of money, but good for the bike thieves.
A long ways to go to catch up to the trail systems in the provinces other cities. But it's a start.
Skabowl1, did you know that they use chemicals to make the flesh of those atlantic farmed fish appealing to the eye.
The farmers themselves can pick whatever chemical they want to, to achieve the desired color of the flesh. They use a set of color cards the same as picking a paint color. Pretty sick huh? Did you also know they use highly toxic paint that kills marine life on their netpen nets. This paint flakes off and is ingested by the farmed fish when they are eating the toxic food they get fed. Yum Yum
