The man  accused of killing more than a dozen women from Vancouver's East Side, is now facing nearly twice as many charges.

The day started with Robert W. Picton,  facing 15 counts of murder.  It was known more charges would be laid, but when the announcement finally came,  many were shocked to hear another 12 names had been added to the list of  women believed to have died at the pig farm.  That brings to 27 the number of murder charges laid against Picton.

The Crown says the police investigation will continue, but the case against Picton will proceed with the 27 counts. The actual court case could begin early in 2006.
