Fire Centre Asks All To Be Cautious With FIre this Weekend

PRINCE GEORGE – Since temperatures have increased through the week with minimalprecipitation, the Prince George Fire Centre urges campers to use extreme caution with campfires this weekend. 

The Prince George Fire Centre expects thunderstorms to affect the region on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, following a week of warm dry weather.

With the increased risk of lightning fires, the BC Forest Service reminds the public to use extreme caution when using fire.

Fire crews have responded to five fires over the past week, which were human caused.

The fire danger rating across the Prince George Fire Centre ranges from moderate to high with areas of extreme in the Peace and Robson Valley.
